/Tough As A Cookie/

When I was a little girl, life was not really a breeze.
But nonetheless, I am really thankful that my
family and I made through all the odds.

There were times where the whole family lived in darkness and had
to carry pails of water from the tap under our void deck late at night.
I clearly remember the day my mum crying while feeding my siblings
and I with only rice and soya sauce. I still remember those days clearly in my mind.
But all that was in the past. I'm really grateful for what we have today.
And, I'm married to a wonderful man! = )

Anyhoo.
I didn’t have that perfect childhood but those experiences have
taught me to toughen up and be grateful for whatever I have.
No matter how tough things will be, I always tell myself that
I’ve been through worst. And for that, I’ve turned into an independent,
strong person and learned not to give up easily.

After my ‘O’ levels, I wanted to join the Police Force,
but my mum was totally against it. My other option was to join
nursing at ITE Bishan. And so I did. I am proud to say that my parents
didn’t have to support me a single cent because I managed to get a part-time job.

Before school starts, I worked part-time at Fig & Olive Cafe.
When school starts, I quit working at Fiq & Olive and worked
on weekends as an “Entertainer”. This job as an “Entertainer” requires
me to do a lot of “blow jobs”. And I get paid $20 per hour.

One of those photo shoot at Stadium Cove with, ermm... I forgot her name.

Yes, I was a jester. Heh! And “blow jobs” here means I have to blow
up a lot of balloons and sculpt them into different shapes. Hehe!
I even had to do magic tricks, act, sing and dance. It was a really fun job.
We do birthday parties, shows, company events, etc.
I’ve quit since I started my career as a nurse 5 years ago.

And, I was not alone. Try to spot my girlfriends...
Sarina, Lulu, Lynn and Ira.

Ermm... Can you spot me? Hehe!

/What A Swine!/

Seriously, what’s up with all the animals?
First the cows, then the chickens, now the pigs?
Next will be what? Duck Flu? Fish Rash?
And like Sharon said, Vege Cough?
Ouh... how about Bitch Fits? = )

Imagine having that pressed against your face for 8.5 hours while on duty everyday.
And, it leaves ugly marks on the face.
Isn’t it cool or what?!

Not only that, you breathe in the carbon dioxide that you breathe out.
And do you know what happens when the body and brain lacks oxygen?

Get what I mean? ; )

/Girl Power/

For the longest time ever, I’ve been trying to edit
this certain part of my wedding DVD but I didn’t know how to.
Finally, I got this self-recorded recently uploaded video from
one of my girlfriend’s facebook account.
Lynn, aku curik. Hehe!

My girls are one of the reason why I cried so much on my wedding day.
But of course, it was tears of joy. Apart from joy and happiness,
there was also a teeny weeny bit of sadness because I’ve become someone’s wife.
I can no longer hang out frequently till late night with my girls.
But Izam have been a very understanding husband,
he didn’t restrict my meetings with my girls.
Thanks Hubby! You're the best!

I know my girls longer than I’ve known Izam.
I am so attached to my girlfriends that sometimes
when I think about departure during our golden years;
it will immediately bring tears to my eyes.

We’ve been together since secondary school days.
We’ve been through ups and downs, we fought,
we laugh, we cry together. We criticized the man
who dumped our girls and will plot mean plans
to hurt them but it never happened. Hehe!

Then we grew up into fine young ladies, some further their studies,
some started to work. Then one by one we found THE ONE
and introduced him to the girls. Then one by one got engaged.
And then, one by one got married. Soon to be married in June
will be my dear Sarina and Hasril. Our group is growing
because almost everyone is already attached. And we’re so happy
to see our men getting along so well with each other.

My girls play such a significant role in my life.
Life would be so dull without them.
We’ve seen each other being in and out of love
and dealing with it. Some deal with it good, some bad.
That is why my girls and I are so emotional on my wedding day.
Because I've finally found happiness and took the big step.

A song dedication along with roses and tears by
my darling girlfriends on my wedding day, 10 August 2008.
Those whispers to my ears made me cry even more.
